CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN PARTY
SEEKS POLITICAL INTERNS

The California Republican Party is working for all Californians by promoting limited government, lower taxes, personal responsibility and a strong national defense. Thousands of members of the Republican Party work hard every day to put Republican ideas into action to benefit all Californians. The California Republican Party is seeking motivated interns who are interested in working within the Party’s Political department on the upcoming Presidential and Statewide elections. These Political Interns will play a key role in supporting critical campaign efforts and priorities. Duration of internship would be late May/June through November, but candidates need not commit to the entire six-month period.

The Political Interns will be an integral part of the political team charged with conducting research, developing outreach programs and briefing materials, supporting events, and tracking ongoing and emerging political issues. These individuals will play a key role in developing and implementing state-wide grassroots activation efforts on a broad range of policy issues. In addition they will help in identifying, recruiting and keeping local activists, key opinion leaders and local coalition allies abreast of policy updates, the Party’s positions on state-wide initiatives and how to participate in grassroots activities.

This is an exceptional opportunity for high school and college students to work within a historical and high-profile campaign. We encourage students to spend their summer learning the ins and outs of operating a modern political campaign and exploring the impact of some of the policy issues that confront Californians. In addition, interns will get to learn from some of the most prominent leaders in local and statewide politics, media, and policy.

Preferred candidates will have an interest in the political process, be self-motivated, detail-oriented and have strong multitasking abilities. Excellent writing and organization skills and strong understanding of on-line technologies for advocacy communications strongly preferred as is proficiency with web-based voter management systems, website and database maintenance. Must have a high degree of discretion and diplomacy. Database skills such as Excel a plus. Burbank, SFV area preferred, but not required.
