Be A Green Energy Champion

Burbank's residents and businesses can help 'green' Burbank by participating in a new program called GREEN ENERGY CHAMPION.  This premium energy program costs an additional 2 cents oer green kilowatt-hour, which is BWP's cost to purchase green energy on your behalf.  You select from three commitment levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.  Each level provides for a specific percent of your electric usage that will be green.  For Burbank residents, percentages are 15% (Bronze), 37.5% (Silver) and 60% (Gold).

Example of how this works:

I decide to be a Gold leve Green Energy Champion, which means 60% of the energy I use will come from a renewable resource.  My home uses 500 kilowatt-hours during the month.  I will pay 2 cents more each for 300 killowatt-hours (60% of my usage) for a total Green Energy Champion cost of $6 that month.  Had I signed up for the Bronze level, my cost would have been $1.50 for the month.

Your electric rate (e.g., residential, small commerical) determines the Bronze, Silver and Gold Green Energy Champion percentages you can sign up for.  For residents, percentages are 15% (Bronze), 37.5% (Silver) and 60% (Gold).  Business green energy percents run from 3% to 60%.  For the average residence, the monthly cost for Green Energy Champion would be about $1.50 (Bronze), $3.75 (Silver), $6.00 (Gold).  To enroll, simply go to BurbankWaterandPower.com/green-energy.html.  Your Green Energy Champion charge will show up on your bill as a separate line item.  Thank You for supporting the environment!
